CATCH® (Comprehensive Approach to Childhood Health)
FLIPANY is a certified trainer of the CATCH program, training 300 afterschool and out of school instructors, annually. We provide trainings for groups of participants throughout Broward County, to make learning easy, accessible, and practical. We serve 300 participants, teaching Coordinated Approach to something, (CATCH), ad guide sites as they engage their own students effectively by providing them with tools that:
a) motivate students through effective use of student choice and effective mentoring (including yourself and the world around them);
b) inspire teaching activities that create a safe and non-intimidating space to learn and even to redefine student success! Finally, we explore class management ideas that facilitate student involvement and ease for the instructor.
Program Objectives
For over 30 years, the CATCH platform has been proven to launch kids and communities toward healthier lifestyles with its health education programs. FLIPANY’s fitness instructors use the evidence-based CATCH program to teach youth and adult classes. CATCH is a developmentally appropriate physical education curriculum that develops health related fitness, skill competency, and cognitive understanding about the importance of physical activity.
