Nutrition Education Workshops
FLIPANY’s chef instructor/nutrition educators deliver a one-hour nutrition workshop to youth at your facility. It can range from an interactive food demonstration to a hands-on healthy cooking lesson provided by an expert in the field. Participants get a chance to sample the food prepared. Participants learn about the benefits of healthy eating, modifying recipes, cooking tips, and shopping on a budget.
Program Objectives
KickinNutrition.TV is an innovative, digital program designed to educate, entertain, and empower kids to make healthier food and lifestyle choices! KickinNutrition.TV features engaging videos and interactive learning tools designed for urban, inner-city youth and their families.
The program utilizes comedy, hip music, and engaging research-based, peer-to-peer nutrition instruction and cooking demonstrations.
The program is aligned with common core by grade and was developed by an award-winning former Executive Producer of Sesame Street International, in collaboration with esteemed experts from Boston University, Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and Tufts Friedman School of Nutrition Science & Policy.
